What if someone says a penny paints a thousand words?
Looking at the tiny masterpieces of an Arizonian artist who paints beautiful images on pennies, you would probably realize how small things can bring great happiness.
Known as Bry Marie, talented artist Bryanna Marie began calling herself “Painter of Pennies” after she started painting on coins—preferably pennies—a few years back.
“Bryanna was born in Tucson, Arizona and painting quickly became her most sought out passion. As time passed with her self-education, she eventually chose smaller painting surfaces to hone her eye for composition and color,” read the bio on her website; adding that “she pushes the boundaries of her works by focusing on the importance of traditional landscapes while proving that minute things can hold an abundance of wonder and beauty.”
Bryanna had always loved using oil paints on copper but she wanted to see if she had the steady hand required to paint tiny details on a very small surface, so she chose the penny. After finishing her first miniature work of art, she felt a sense of accomplishment she had never had with her previous works, so she decided to paint with oils on coins exclusively.
At present, the talented artist continues to show her work around the United States and on the internet through her website and social networking account. She has been uploading her works on the photo-sharing app Instagram, where she already got more than 12,ooo followers, as of posting.
A living proof that “tiny things can hold an abundance of wonder and beauty when we stop to notice them”, her work has been featured on ABC News and Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
