PBA courtside reporter Selina Dagdag-Alas is asking for prayers after being diagnosed with a rare type of cancer.

On Instagram, the wife of NLEX player Kevin Alas shared that she recently received the news that she has Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasia.
“When I first heard of the news, I fell on Kevin’s arms as I repeatedly cried, ‘Help me, God,’” Selina shared. “Cancer was my biggest fear. And to have it in my twenties was a big shock for me.”
However, she remains hopeful as she holds on to her faith during these challenging times.

“I praise the Lord that He has already made Himself known to me during this season of my life. Back then, I would’ve thought this was a cruel prognosis. I would’ve been bitter, angry, even resentful. But through His grace alone, and the gift of His word – I know better.”
Selina added that while it is difficult to see now, she knows that “there is IMMENSE love in and behind all these.”
“Though I may not know the answer to my ‘whys’, I know I am in the hands of a tender Father who ordained this from the beginning of my life for my good… With God, there are no plan Bs. This is his plan A; He has a good purpose, and He has it all under control. As such, I rest and trust in Him.”

She also said that the love, prayers, and encouragement from her loved ones are carrying her through the tough days.
“Above all, I am blessed with the fellowship of Christ. All glory to Him alone. Kindly keep us in your prayers.”
Early this year, just a few months after her wedding with Kevin, Selina announced her miscarriage.
“2 months into our church wedding, Kevin and I found out we were 5 weeks pregnant. Sadly, entering the 2nd month, we learned that the pregnancy did not progress and I miscarried,” she shared.
