Rooting so much to be the title holder, many people often get frustrated becoming a runner-up; asking themselves why they did not make it to the top, what went wrong in the competition, why was their best not enough, and so on. But when beauty queen Samantha Bernardo was called to replace professional athlete Alyssa Valdez in the Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10 (PBB: Kumunity Season 10) Celebrity Top 2, a lot of almost-winners and social media users got inspired.
“Being a first runner-up always comes with a purpose,” read a comment from a social media user who got touched by Samantha’s PBB journey, which already came to an end until an unexpected plot twist took place: Alyssa dropping off the season’s finalists to compete in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam this month which may coincide with top housemates return to the iconic house.
“Good luck, Sam. Sana manalo ka na dito kasi sabi mo lagi ka na lang first runner-up baka ito na ‘yong swerte mo [Good luck, Sam. I hope you win this time ’cause you said you’ve always been the first runner-up. Luck might be on your side now],” Facebook user Cheche Seong Daeu commented.
“I’m so happy! You deserve it, Sam! Though I want you and Alyssa both in the house, you being chosen is a big win! Hindi ka na runner-up, ikaw na ngayon (You’re no longer a runner-up, you’ve been chosen this time)! The universe granted your wish because you’ve been patient and good sport!” said YouTube user ALL ABOUT THE BRAINS.
Sitting on the third spot as the celebrity edition concluded, Big Brother chose Samantha to replace Alyssa for the final round.
Samantha is set to return to the PBB house with singer Anji Salvacion, the other top housemate in the celebrity edition. Joining them will be the season’s Adult Kumunity Top 2, Isabel Laohoo and Nathan Juane, together with the two top housemates of the ongoing teen edition.
