Toni Gonzaga reflects on lesson from the elections: Stand up for what you believe is right

Former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) host Toni Gonzaga shared the lesson she picked up after the grueling election season.

“In the end…. Stand up for what you believe is right. Even if it means standing up…. Alone,” Toni said in an Instagram post.

She received messages of support from her friends in the industry.

Mariel Padilla, wife of senatorial frontrunner Robin Padilla congratulated Toni, who was a frequent guest during UniTeam’s rallies.

“Bilib na bilib kami sayo. Mas lalo kami humanga sayo. YOU ARE ONE OF A KIND!!!! Congratulations” Mariel commented.

Karla Estrada, meanwhile, assured Toni that she will never stand alone.

Jerika Ejercito said, “We are right behind you. 31 million of us.”

Toni left PBB after being the reality show’s host for 16 years. She was met with criticisms when she hosted UniTeam’s proclamation rally to kick off the campaign period.

Former colleagues expressed their disappointment when they heard Toni introduce Rep. Rodante Marcoleta during the program. He was among the lawmakers who voted against the renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise.

“From witnessing all my co-hosts transition from housemates to PBB hosts are just some of the best moments in my life sa bahay ni Kuya! Today I am stepping down as your main host. I know Bianca and the rest of the hosts will continue the PBB legacy,” Toni said.

“It has been my privilege to greet you all with ‘Hello Philippines’ and ‘Hello World’ for the last 16 years. I will forever cherish the memories, big nights, and moments in my heart. Thank you, Kuya for everything. This is your angel, now signing off,” Toni said.

Marcoleta later withdrew from the senatorial race; citing poor performance in surveys.
