'From no one to an almost board topnotcher': Civil engineer board passer gives advice to future takers

How far would you go to chase after your dreams?

Even though he admits he was not so good in class, Enrico Escobar dreamed of becoming a board topnotcher in the May 2022 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination.

So even though he didn’t make it to the top, he felt like he’s a topnotcher in what he has achieved even with the little time he had to prepare, he said in a Facebook post on May 13.

Who knew that one who was once dubbed as a “sakto lang” in college could become an “almost board topnotcher”?

Enrico Escobar had that in mind when he passed his civil engineer exam in May 2022.

A Challenging Journey

Enrico is a resident of Imus, Cavite and was a student of the Cavite State University. He graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2020.

On May 13, 2022, just days after the result of the board exams was announced, Enrico posted the following on his Facebook page.

Yes, he got an 88.70% rating. His two fellow board passers are in the 10th place and have a rating of 91.55.

Yes, Enrico was ‘almost’ there. According to Enrico’s post, his classmates and friends knew that he was not so good during college.

“From no one to an almost board topnotcher,” He started his post.

I’m sure, natututo ako,” he added.

He also shared that he only started a proper review in March after resigning fom his work and he didn’t even have a ‘study buddy’ which was a challenge.

Enrico’s advice to those who will be taking the next board exams are: 1) Study smart, 2) That time is gold, 3) Make note cards, 4) study  exam trends.

5) Trust the pacing and advice of the review centers. Don’t be complacent, he also said. Listen carefully to the final coaching.

6) Have trust in yourself and value the trust others around you. 7) Lastly, aim for the top!

Best of luck future engineers! HAHAHAHA”
