Ipinaliwanag ng kampo ng presidentiable na si Bongbong Marcos ang pagdalo nito sa isang radio interview isang araw bago ang hindi niya nasipot na preliminary conference ng kaniyang disqualification case sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) First Division.

Sa isang pahayag ay sinabi ni Atty. Victor Rodriguez na umaga ng January 6 ay tumuloy si Marcos sa nakatakdang interview kahit masama ang kaniyang pakiramdam.
“After the interview, his physician arrived and determined that he had a fever and throat swelling. BBM was instructed to take a midday rest,” ani Atty. Rodriguez.
Ngunit noong hapon ay muli raw nag-guest sa isang radio interview si Marcos, dahilan upang lalong lumala ang kalagayan nito. “Mid-afternoon, however, he went on with another radio interview. We believe it was that afternoon interview which exacerbated his condition.”

Kinabukasan, January 7, nagsimulang mag-isolate ang presidentiable. “It was at that time that the Comelec wanted him to appear even through a video conference,” paliwanag ng abogado.
“A judgment call was made to let BBM continue with his needed rest, since he was in bed after taking his medicines.”
Inilabas nila ang pahayag matapos makita ng netizens na nag-guest pa si Marcos sa isang programa ng DZME noong araw na nakasaad sa kaniyang medical certificate na nakaranas siya ng lagnat.

“I was called by his wife, Lisa, to see him yesterday (January 6) at around 10 a.m. at his home, presenting with body malaise, febrile episodes, and difficulty in speaking due to painfully congested throat,” saad sa kaniyang medical certificate na nilagdaan ni Dr. Benedict Francis Valdecanas.
“Upon examination, he had a temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius, and his throat was hyperemic and swollen.”
Kasalukuyang naka-isolate si Marcos matapos ma-expose sa mga nagpositibo sa COVID-19.
