“With record breaking numbers of daily positive cases, we appeal to the Department of Education to consider implementing an academic health break in areas under alert level 3 to give our students, teachers and their parents time to rest and recuperate from the onslaught of the surge of the Omicron variant,” sabi ni Rep. Castro sa isang pahayag.

“Giving our teachers and the students time to rest, especially amid the ongoing surge would allow them to focus on their health and recovery.”
“By allowing an academic health break, teachers can focus on their own health and welfare during this time. Allowing our teachers to rest will also help them deliver better quality education once they are recovered instead of fighting through a virus and teaching online,” sabi pa ni Rep. Castro.

“To be able to adequately address the demands of our teachers and students for their welfare, the DepEd should first make sure they have adequate monitoring of the number of infected teachers, personnel and students.”
