Nagpositibo sa COVID-19 si vice presidential aspirant na si Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.
Sa isang Instagram post, sinabi niyang nagulat siya noong Sabado ng gabi nang matanggap niya ang positive result ng kaniyang RT-PCR test. “I got the results of my twice weekly routine RT-PCR test last night and was surprised that the test results turned out positive.”

Ikinabigla niya ito dahil wala siyang nararamdamang kahit anong sintomas ng virus.
“[I was] surprised because I have zero symptoms. No cold or cough. No itchy throat. I was even able to run on the treadmill and do yoga stretching exercises last night before I learned of the test results,” kuwento ng senador.
Nagpa-antigen test ang kaniyang buong pamilya at lahat naman sila ay nag-negatibo rito. Aniya, ayon sa kaniyang kapatid na doktor, may posibilidad na false positive ang kaniyang resulta dahil sa dami ng tests na ginagawa sa mga laboratoryo.

“My doctor sister tells me that with labs swapped with a tsunami of testing due to the surge, the possibility of contamination and a false positive is not remote. Hence, I have been retested today and are awaiting the results.”
Sa ngayon ay naka-isolate sa iba’t ibang kuwarto ang kaniyang pamilya, kabilang ang asawang si Sharon Cuneta.
“In the meantime Sharon, myself, and our kids with us at home have all isolated in different rooms. All are masked. All are fully vaxxed too. None of us are exhibiting symptoms. Everyone tested negative via antigen testing this morning, including myself and we are awaiting the results of the RT PCR tests due tomorrow.”

Maayos naman daw ang kaniyang kalagayan at mas nag-aalala siya para sa pamilya at mga kababayan.
“I am more than okay. Just concerned about the health and safety of my family and the staff at home, as well as our kababayans and their families everywhere going through a similar, stressful ordeal. Hay! What a disruptive start to 2022.”
