Wow! You’ve got mail! But on days when you don’t get any, does that frustrate you? Maybe not. But there’s one dog who simply can’t take it when there’s no mail!
Martin Studer is a postman (or “postie” as per his Facebook profile) in Brisbane, Australia. Pippa is a Golden Retriever on his route, and she loves bringing mail to her family once her friend Studer drops it off. Looks like she enjoys receiving post as much as, if not more , than her fur family.
But what can Pippa deliver if there’s no mail that day? Awwwww
Rather than disappoint the ever expectant Pippa, the kind postie ‘writes’ a letter to deliver so Pippa won’t go without one.
“Sometimes, Pippa comes out for the daily delivery but there’s no mail for her to collect. So I have to improvise,” he wrote on Facebook. Indeed, he goes out of his way to make some fur baby happy!
His post captured so many hearts; over 12K reactions. It was also shared more than 5,000 times. Good stories are meant to do just that — make people feel good!
In an interview, it was reported that Studer love dogs. Moreover, he shared that one can always tell what an owner is like by the way their dog acts.
Amazingly, up to now Studer still posts “#dogoftheday photos; the ones he meet during his rounds.
In yet another post, Studer shared a lovely gesture from some of Pippa’s fans.
A very special thank you to Girl Scout Troop 30413. Pippa and her owner were so very happy to get your mail. You found a way to get the mail to her, even though it is not auspost policy to give out addresses.
Is is wonderful to see such people in the world.
Here is the text of the letter: “My name is Melissa Fuller, I am a Girl Scout leader with 8yo 2nd year Brownies. We read about Pippa and fell in love with her. So the girls wanted to send Pippa some love and some mail.
Thank you for sharing the story of your beautiful dog with the rest of the world. We need some happy stories in these hard times”.
Well, Melissa Fuller, your mail has gone through and Pippa and I (and her owner) thank you very much. Now if you’ll excuse me, there seems to be something in my eye.
Well, Pippa isn’t the only one who loves to deliver the mail. After all, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds!”
Yes, Studer’s still at it; year 2022.
Truly, this wonderful mail worker was able to prove that dogs and mailmen really can get along!
