“Don’t judge a book by its cover” is among the most famous sayings. We’ve been hearing it since we were young. But apparently, some still fail to apply it in life.
Netizen Love Dorego shared the experience of a retired teacher who wanted to buy a car but was not allowed to enter a shop in Davao City.

“Last Tuesday, May 17, before going to Suzuki, Tatay Manuel went to ____a’s Showroom, however, he said he wasn’t allowed to get in,” Love narrated.
“Maybe because of his outward appearance, wearing very old and stained clothes, dilapidated and holed shoes, and a dirty mask.”
Tatay Manuel then proceeded to Suzuki Auto Davao Lanang where Love was working.
“He walked into our Showroom at Lanang but we didn’t hesitate to let him in and entertained him, asking what unit he wants to inquire about, he said he wants to buy a unit,” she narrated.

They presented units to Tatay Manuel until he decided on which car to buy.
“After presenting our displayed cars he decided to buy the S-presso he said he’ll pay it in cash, but, he will go back the next day because he didn’t bring his money with him being afraid to bring the cash while riding a bus and a jeepney.”
The following day, Tatay Manuel came back and Suzuki’s sales executive drove him home so he can get the cash he will use to pay in full.
“The following day, we released his unit and since he’s still relearning how to drive, Michael drove his unit going to his home.”

Love said Tatay Manuel does not have a family. “He said a woman just took advantage of him and took his money away,” Love said.
This experience, she said, is a reminder not to look down on anybody.
“Here in SUZUKI AUTO DAVAO- LANANG, We never underestimate anyone. We will cater from all walks of life whether well-groomed or not,” she said.
“LESSON LEARNED: NEVER UNDERESTIMATE ANYONE. TREAT EVERY PERSON EQUALLY.”
As of this writing, her post has earned thousands of likes and shares from netizens touched by Tatay Manuel’s story.
