Vivian Velez says she's a 'DDS' but not blind to Duterte's shortcomings

Even if she is vocal about her support for Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, actress Vivian Velez said she did not turn a blind eye to his shortcomings.

“I’m a DDS (Duterte Diehard Supporter) but I am not blind to his shortcomings. I have chosen to be pragmatic about PRRD because there is no easy way to change the political and economic structure of this country without suffering the fates of Andres Bonifacio and Antonio Luna in their quest for true independence resulting in equality and equanimity for all Filipinos,” she said in a Facebook post.

Despite being “constricted and hampered” by what Vivian called the “Cory Constitution,” Vivian  said she believes that Pres. Duterte was able to deliver.

“But PRRD performed and done a lot of achievements despite of, the reason why he is still popular and people are not uneasy,” she said.

The challenge, she added, is for the next administration to sustain the changes that the president has done.

“I think the struggle will be in the coming administration when PRRD steps down. PRRD showed us that change is attainable, it will be up to us to finish it,” she said.

“Thank you for all that you did and tried to do. Thank you for being our president. Thank you for your service.”

Pres. Duterte is set to be succeeded by president-in-waiting former Sen. Bongbong Marcos, who garnered more than 31 million votes. Meanwhile, his daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is presumptive vice president with 31 million votes as well.
