Netizens were touched by the video of a father who did not finish college; trying out his daughter’s graduation cap.
In a TikTok video, Angela Antoinette Francisco shared that her father, 54-year-old Edgardo, did not graduate because he had to work to support his siblings’ education.
But aside from his siblings, he was also able to send her three children to college.

“Daddy wasn’t able to finish his college because he needs to work and help his three siblings finish their own. He always tells us that he is working hard for us not to be like him,” Angela said. “Despite not being a degree holder, tatlo naman kaming napagtapos mo!”
Angela also said she heard her father say that it is his dream to be able to wear a toga.
“I saw how hard you work every day. Always faking a smile even when things get hard just to not make us worry. Always prioritizing our needs before your wants. Enduring all pain and struggles. I am so proud and lucky to have you, daddy!” she added.

Angela, meanwhile, promised to work hard to be able to give back to him. “Konti na lang, ako naman babawi sa inyo. Susuklian ko lahat ng paghihirap mo para samin.”
Some netizens shared that they see their own parents in Angela’s dad.
“Ganiyan rin ang tatay ko nung gumraduate ako ng college dahil elem grad lang siya. Sinuot at nagpa-picture siya,” one said.

“Hugs dad! My dad wasn’t able to graduate as well but he was able to raise 2 nurses and helped my mom too to graduate on her doctorate degree,” another shared.
Some students were also inspired by the video and said that they will study hard to be able to make their parents proud.
“This is my biggest motivation, my mom had me when she was 19 so she didn’t get to finish college… 2nd year college student, by the way,” another TikTok user said.
