The popular vlogger-actress-singer Donnalyn Bartolome just celebrated her 28th birthday with family and friends and she described it as her simplest yet happiest celebration.
She called their get-together as “Kanto Birthday Party” – the theme of her special day.
The video of her party is presently #2 trending on YouTube. It was uploaded on August 11 and was #1 on its first day.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Donnalyn expressed her gratitude to everyone. “THANK YOU FOR MAKING US #1 TRENDING ON ITS FIRST DAY!! Pinakasimple pero pinakamasayang birthday ko.”
She further disclosed some bits of her life.
She said in her post, “My Kanto Birthday Party is not just a concept, this was my life when I left home abroad where my life was comfortable… pero hindi mo maaabot pangarap mo sa pagiging komportable lagi. Kaya noong umalis ako sa amin to work here sa Pinas, hindi ko inaasahan, kahit mahirap, isa siya sa adventure ko sa buhay na hindi ko makakalimutan.”
This was the theme she chose, she said, because it reminds her of those times she had nothing and was just starting to find ways to earn. However, she acknowledged those who loved her despite her hole-ridden shorts; those days when all she could affod to buy were cheap shoes and slippers.
“So I relived the times when I was just starting out on my bday last month July 9, just like nung time na walang-wala pa ako… pero nandiyan yung mga taong mahal ako kahit butas-butas ang shorts.. at murang sapatos at tsinelas lang kaya kong bilihin,” she continued.
“Ngayon.. mas dumami pa ang nagmamahal sa akin kahit ganito mga trip ko.. kayo na mag-caption each photo, HAHAHAHAHA!!!” she concluded her post.
Among the celebrity friends who joined them in the Kanto party are Andre Paras. Zeinab Harake, Jelai Andres, Awra Briguela, Richard Juan, Mikee Quintos, Paul Salas, and many others.
It can be remembered that last month Donnalyn’s baby-themed birthday pictorial received much backlash from netizens which she immediatly addressed by removing her posted photos and videos from the photoshoot. She also apologized over her ‘mistake’; emphasizing that she had no bad intentions. Anyway, at the end of the day, all’s well that ends well.
