Blessings poured for a father who looked for ways to surprise his kid with a birthday cake.
Facebook user Jh En shared screenshots from the private group Valenzuela Online Palengke where a father made himself available for 24 hours to look for side hustles so he can earn enough money to buy a cake for his child.

“Baka po may ipapautos or ipapabili kayo riyan pa-service. Birthday kasi ng anak ko bukas need ko lang makaipon ng pambili ng cake niya. PM n’yo po ako agad. Available po ako ngayon, 24 hours. Salamat po,” the rider posted.
Fortunately, he would not have to work for 24 hours as netizens started pitching in not only for the cake, but for his child’s birthday celebration.
A Facebook user pledged palabok, another promised to have pizza delivered, one gave chicken wings, and the list went on.
Uploader Jh En said she was touched when she read the outpour of support for the father, whose identity she did not disclose.

“Share ko lang kasi na-amaze ako. Sana ma-receive n’yo rin ‘yong naramdaman ko after reading the comments. May nagpost sa Valenzuela Online Palengke tapos ito ‘yong comment section. Grabe kayo, mga ma’am at sir,” she said.
Her post has gained thousands of shares from netizens who were amazed by the generosity of Filipinos even in the midst of the pandemic.
“Grabe, nakaka-touch naman. Nakakaiyak habang binabasa. Ang dami pa rin talagang mababait na Pilipino,” Yang Q. commented.

Another said that aside from the good samaritans who helped the rider, she was also amazed at the father who was willing to sacrifice rest and sleep to make his child happy.
“Grabe ‘no? Good souls. Nakakaiyak sa part ni Kuya na willing mag-work for 24 hours para lang naman masaya birthday ng anak niya. Makes me cry more,” Hirene D. said.
A Facebook user was reminded of the saying, ‘do not talk to strangers,’ but said that sometimes, strangers are more willing to help.
“May kasabihan tayo na ‘Don’t talk to strangers.’ Pero minsan ang strangers pa ang tutulong sa’yo,” one netizen commented.
