Actress Danica Sotto-Pingris penned a heartwarming message for children like her who are products of broken marriages.

In a Facebook post, Danica said she does not believe that children are bound to repeat the same mistakes that their parents committed, especially if they have learned from that experience.
“To the children of separated parents… You are not doomed to repeat the mistakes of your parents. You will find love and you have love kasi you learned from what they did wrong,” she said.
“Marriage lang nila ang nag-end pero ikaw, hindi… You are not broken.”
She also reminded them to ask for God’s help and guidance and not seek for other people’s approval.

“Ask God to help and guide you. Kasi if we genuinely experience and understand God’s love, you won’t need to prove yourself to other people. You know na buo ka kasi HE fills in the gaps. ‘Yung ‘di kayang punuin ng mga tao lang,” Danica further explained.
In a separate post, Danica said she often gets asked about her experience growing up with a broken family.
“I often get asked about how my life was growing up. How to cope when your parents separate? I believe it’s the grace of God and my family that has helped mold me into the person I am today. ‘Di naman ako expert. I’m still a work in progress as well,” she shared.

Danica has been married to Mark Pingris for 14 years.
Her parents Vic Sotto and Dina Bonnevie got married in 1982. They have two children together – Danica and Oyo Boy. The two parted ways in 1986 and their marriage was annulled in 1992.
Vic is now married to Eat Bulaga co-host Pauleen Luna, while Dina found a new love with politician DV Savellano.
