Itinanggi ng kampo ni Enchong Dee na nagtago ang aktor matapos umanong bigong mahanap ng mga awtoridad bago ito sumuko sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at magpiyansa nitong Lunes.
Matatandaang kinakaharap niya ang kasong cyberlibel matapos batikusin ang magarbong kasal ni Drivers United for Mass Progress and Equal Rights (DUMPER) Rep. Claudine Bautista-Lim sa Balesin.
Ayon sa mga ulat, pinuntahan ng mga alagad ng batas si Enchong matapos maglabas ng mandamiento de arresto ang Davao Occidental Regional Trial Court ngunit hindi nila ito nakita.
Gayunpaman, nilinaw ng kaniyang legal counsel na Castillo Laman Tan Pantaleon & San Jose Law Firm na may “professional and personal commitments” na inaasikaso si Enchong.
“Contrary to certain media reports, Enchong Dee has been attending to his professional and personal commitments in the past couple of days and has not made any attempt to evade arrest,” pahayag nila.
Kinumpirma rin ng kaniyang legal counsel na nakapag-bail na si Enchong kaya nakalaya rin matapos sumuko.

“More importantly, as a show of respect for the rule of law, he voluntarily submitted himself to the authorities and posted bail,” sabi pa nila.
“Moving forward, Enchong will take all the appropriate and necessary legal steps to defend himself against the pending lawsuit.”
Naglabas na noon ng apology si Enchong dahil sa kaniyang tweet, ngunit ayon kay Rep. Lim, labis na nakaapekto sa kaniya at kaniyang pamilya ang mga pambabatikos sa kanilang kasal.
“The anxiety, anguish, humiliation and the impact on my and my family’s reputation left us no choice but to file cases against those responsible for causing us so much grief and worry, which almost led to me losing our baby, and which adversely affected some of our constituents’ trust in us,” sabi noon ni Lim.
