Loving father patiently waits for PWD son taking LET; earns praises from netizens

A parent’s role never ends no matter how big or old their sons and daughters have become.

In fact, most parents will always be willing to sacrifice even more just to see their children succeed in whatever endeavour they chose to try; as in the case of this inspiring story of a father who provide full support to his son who is an aspiring teacher.

Netizen Sheila Mae Glor, who herself was an aspiring teacher, shared her heartwarming encounter with the father who accompanied his PWD son in taking the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).

Shiela narrated she arrived early at the LET venue and noticed this old man who appears to be waiting for someone. He was cheerful and smiling to everyone passing by, she recalled.

It was around 5:30 am but being preoccupied with the challenge she will face that day, Shiela didn’t pay much attention to ‘Tatay’ who was standing outside the room.

The gruelling examination lasted for about 12 hours, starting from 6:30 am until 6:30 pm.

When Shiela went out, she still noticed the old man outside and decided to strike a conversation out of curiousity.

Tatay then shared to her that his son was also one of the examinees.

What Shiela didn’t expect was when the father pointed to the man on the wheelchair; apparently the son he was referring to.

“Mula 1st year ‘yan, hatid-sundo ko na ‘yan. Hanggang ngayon na board niya,” Tatay said.

The three parted ways after that, but Shiela said she tried to hold back her tears upon realizing how much Tatay may have sacrificed for his son.

“Gusto kong maiyak. Dama ko ang sakripisyo ni Tatay, at lahat ng mga magulang para sa mga anak nila. ‘Yung kaya nilang gawin lahat ng walang pagkapagod o pagkainip,” she wrote.

Netizens agree with her and heaped praises on the father whose love for the boy is, without a doubt, unconditional.
