Isang simple ngunit pinaghirapang regalo ang nagpasaya sa senatorial candidate na si Chel Diokno: isang crocheted turtle.
Sa kanyang Facebook page, ikinuwento ni Diokno kung paano siya naantig sa regalo mula sa kanyang “CHELdren” na sina Ciara at Shannah. Bukod daw kasi sa nakatutuwang note mula sa mga ito, nalaman din ng politician na nag-aral pa ang dalawa kung paano mag-crochet ng isang pagong.
“Noong bumisita ako sa Silay, Negros Occidental, binigyan ako ng ating CHELdren ng isang crocheted turtle. Tuwang-tuwa ako! But what’s more heartwarming is what is written on the note: noong nakita raw nila ang aking post na mahilig ako sa turtles, they patiently watched video tutorials on YouTube para magawan ako ng crocheted turtle na ito. Thank you so much, Ciara and Shannah! I am so touched by your gesture of love!” saad niya sa caption ng mga larawan.
Sa note, mababasa kung gaano kasuportado ng mga bata ang pagtakbo ni Diokno at naniniwala raw ang mga ito na hindi na dapat muling palampasin ng mga tao ang pagkakataong ihalal ang social media user.
“Welcome to the City of Smiles! I am one of your social media campaign volunteers and I have been supporting you since you ran with Otso Diretso. The day I learned that you lost in that election, I felt sorry. This time, we cannot afford to lose you again,” saad nito.
“Together with my sister, I made this little gift for you. I saw on your posts on Instagram and Facebook that you like turtles, and so we patiently watched video tutorials on YouTube on how to crochet a turtle. We would really appreciate seeing this little fella together with your collection,” pagpapatuloy nito.
