Dating na-impound na aso sa Bacolod City ang umantig sa puso ng mga netizens nang i-post online ang mga larawan nito bago at pagkatapos ng adoption.
“There are no bad dogs! Only bad owners!” pagbabahagi ng isang netizen sa kaniyang social media post kaugnay sa isang asong hindi madaling ampunin dahil labis ang tapang nito at hindi malapitan ng mga tao.
Sinabi ng uploader na si Sam Delai sa Inquirer na matagal na siyang kasama sa animal welfare group na “Bacolod Animal Chance and Hope (BACH) Project Ph.”
Natigilan umano siya nang una niyang makita ang mga imahe ng aso matapos itong isuko sa kanilang lokal na pound, dahil mapapansin na ang aso ay tila ang “most broken” sa lahat ng mga nilalang.
“When I saw the image of this dog at the pound, I immediately contacted an advocate feeder at the pound and asked about him. Yes, the dog is not an easy take home,” aniya.
“Betrayed, unloved, surrendered to the pound. What demeanor would you expect? I myself was not ready for such,” dagdag pa niya.
Samantala, tuwang-tuwa si Delai nang malaman niyang ang nakababatang kapatid ng kaibigan niyang si Jesse Lozada Seddon ang nagpasyang ampunin ang aso.
“I saw a lot of dogs posted in the group [BACH Project Ph], but that time when I [saw him], I knew to myself that he should be with me,” ani Jesse.
“All those reported aggressions and finger-pointing directed to this poor fella led to his fated exile turned into loving sweet smiles and happy ending when a brave young woman decided to move against all odds and adopted this dog from the pound,” ani Sam.
Mula noon, pinangalanan ni Jesse ang aso na “Duke” at ngayon ay nasa pangangalaga na niya.
“It was an instant connection that day that they met. A story that can inspire us [every day] and a constant reminder that there are no bad dogs but bad owners instead. How we treat them reflects on their behavior,” ani Sam.
“One thing’s for certain as evident in the photos. LOVE MAKES WONDERS! Truly dogs only deserve to be with angels!”
