It’s been almost seven years since Liezl Martinez passed away, but the ever dashing husband she left behind – veteran actor Albert Martinez – is still very much single as he disclosed he is still not ready to be in a relationship. Perhaps he’ll never be?
Dr. Vicki Belo recently had an up close and personal interview with the 60-year-old actor, director, and producer on her YouTube channel.
Albert shared updates on his life; starting with how he got to spend much time with his father Bert Martinez especially during the first lockdowns.
They proceeded to talk about Liezl’s big C journey, how they learned about it, the struggle as well as the bitter ending. The pain is still there in his eyes as he narrates details of their attempts to prolong Liezel’s life.
Doc Vicki then asked him about the current status of his love life, whether he was seeing anyone. He said, “I don’t have any. I am still enjoying my time with my kids and apo kasi obviously I’ve been working hard and I missed so much time with my kids so now I am parang bumabawi sa kanila. I cook for them every weekend.”
He was then asked if he’s attracted to anyone or if there are women who tries to flirt with him. He admittedly honestly that it’s normal perhaps’ a normal process, but he doesn’t go through with it.
“I don’t go through with it. Parang I’m not ready yet. Liezl’s shoes is very hard to fill,” he replied. Oh wow!
For Albert, his wife is unforgettable, as she is “the kindest, smartest” person he has ever met and that they share this ‘deep love.’
“We’re very good friends, she took really good care of me. I don’t know if you believe in soulmate, but I believe she’s my soulmate,” he added further.
It was March 14, 2015, at age 47, when Liezl Sumilang Martinez joined our Creator.
