Aljur Abrenica has nothing but kind words for his father-in-law senatorial frontrunner Robin Padilla.

In an interview with Pep, Aljur still referred to Robin as “Papa” even if he and Kylie Padilla are no longer together.
He said he believes that Robin has the qualities of a good leader – one of which is his willingness to help.
“Kasi si Papa, ang dami niyang natulungan. Alam natin ‘yan, ‘di ba, dito sa ating industriya. ‘Yung mga stuntman, tinulungan niya. Doon ako humahanga sa kanya, e. He has the ability, kumbaga, kung kailangang ilagay ang isang tao sa isang posisyon ng pagiging lider, siya talaga,” Aljur said.
Aljur also said that Robin’s representation of the entertainment industry in the Senate is a good thing.

“So, actually plus yun para sa atin sa industriya, na nakaposisyon siya. Kasi, he knows, e. Alam niya kung ano ang dapat ayusin sa industriya. How to make it better. He’ll be striving to make our industry better,” he explained.
Asked to comment on the negative reactions that Robin received after leading the senatorial slate, Aljur said people should get to know him first.
“Huwag kang maniwala agad, na, ‘Oh, he’s not qualified.’ Alamin mo muna ang story ng tao, ‘yung pinagdaanan niya, saan siya nagsimula. Yung ups and downs niya,” he said; reiterating his confidence in Robin’s ability to lead.

“Ang daming beses niyang bumagsak pero nakakabangon siya. Dun mo masusukat ang isang lalaki, ang pagiging lider ng isang tao. If something happens to our country, I know he can handle it. And ang gusto ko pa kay Papa, he has the heart, ‘di ba? Matalino na siya, may puso pa.”
