VP Leni Robredo to attend daughter's graduation; assures smooth turnover to successor

Vice President Leni Robredo is set to fly to New York to attend her youngest daughter Jillian Robredo’s graduation.

“We will be gone for a few days just to spend time with family and take a well-deserved rest before all of us restart the lives we put on hold,” she said in a Facebook post.

VP Robredo added that this is the first time since she lost her husband Jesse Robredo in 2012 that they will be taking a vacation without thinking about work.

“We are sorry if we cannot accept the numerous requests for meet ups. We will do that some other time in the future. For now, we just need to spend as much time together,” she said.

She also apologized for not being able to answer messages and referred urgent concerns to her Chief of Staff Usec Boyet Dy.

Meanwhile, she said her Office of the Vice President (OVP) family is taking care of the preparations in order to ensure the smooth turnover of the office to the next Vice President.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte kept her lead in the latest Comelec transparency server data.

Meanwhile, VP Robredo assured that she is on top of the preparations for the launch of the non-government organization Angat Buhay.

During her thanksgiving gathering at the Ateneo de Manila University last Friday, VP Robredo reminded her supporters to wipe their tears when they are done crying because they have work to do.

“Payagan ang sariling lumuha. Pero ‘pag handa nang pahiran ang luha, pagpagin ang sarili. Tibayan ang puso. Dahil may trabaho pa tayo,” she said.

Angat Buhay is set to be launched as an NGO on July 1.

“Hindi tayo mamimili ng tutulungan. Wala tayong tatalikuran. Ipapakita natin ang buong pwersa ng radikal na pagmamahal,” she said.
