Senator-elect JV Ejercito is putting up a P50,000 reward for any information that would lead to the capture or arrest of the SUV driver who ran over a security guard manning traffic in Mandaluyong City on Sunday, June 5.
In a Twitter post, Ejercito said he was furious after watching the viral video of the incident that immediately made the rounds on social media.

“Putting up a P50k reward for any info regarding this evil and idiot driver who purposely ran over a traffic enforcer. Really furious watching the video!” the incoming lawmaker tweeted.
The video of the incident was captured on dashcam by Miko Angelo Ramos who shared it on Facebook.
It reportedly happened at the intersection of Julio Vargas Avenue and St. Francis Street in Ortigas center around 4 pm on Sunday.

In the clip, the guard, identified as Christian Joseph Floralde can be seen manning the traffic and tried to stop a white SUV from crossing the intersection.
The driver of the SUV, for whatever reason, drove and hit Floralde who was knocked over to the ground. But instead of helping the poor victim, the driver ran him over before fleeing the area.
Floralde has been taken to a nearby hospital where he is currently being observed due to injuries.

Meanwhile, a latest update from Inquirer said the owner of the white SUV has been identified and summoned by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to explain.
He was ordered to appear at the Intelligence and Investigation Division of the LTO on Tuesday, June 7.

“The assigned driver is further directed to submit a written COMMENT/EXPLANATION thereon to show cause why he should not be administratively charged for Reckless Driving (Sec. 48 of R.A. 4136), Duty of driver in case of accident (Sec. 55 of R.A. 4136) and why his driver’s license should not be suspended or revoked,” the LTO show cause order read.
It remains unclear, however, whether the registered owner is the same person who was driving the vehicle last Sunday when the hit-and-run incident took place.
