Time flies! Actress Valerie Concepcion’s daughter, Heather Fiona Galang, has grown fast into a fine young lady and just graduated high school from Miriam College.
On Instagram, Valerie penned a heartwarming message for Heather and expressed how proud and grateful she is to be blessed with a daughter like her.
“Right from when you were still a kid until now, you have only given me reasons to hold my head up high,” she wrote. “I am so proud of you, my dearest Heather, and I am wishing you all the success and happiness the world has to offer. Good luck on your new journey, anak ko. (emoji) ILYSM and I’ll always be here for you. That’s a promise.”
In an interview with Magandang Buhay hosts, Valerie revealed that she was only 16 when she got pregnant with Heather and had faced a lot of challenges back then.
“Tinago ko na may boyfriend ako, tapos biglang buntis na nga. Habang buntis pa ako, kinukulong ako sa bahay kasi natatakot sila na baka makipagtanan ako. Kasi na-in love talaga ako nung time na yun sa tatay ng anak ko,” she shared.
Though she raised Heather all by herself, Valerie has been honest with the latter regarding the identity of her dad.
“Bata pa lang sya, hindi ako nagsisinungaling. Sinasagot ko nang maayos, ini-explain ko lahat. Kahit hindi pa niya nakikita in person yung dad n’ya, pinakita ko ‘yong picture, ‘Ito ‘yong tatay mo, ito ang pangalan n’ya.’ Wala akong sinisikreto sa kanya,” she said. “Ngayon na teenager na siya, hindi siya nagsisikreto sa akin and I’m so thankful. At least maga-guide ko siya nang tama. Mas malaki ‘yong tsansa na hindi niya maulit ‘yong mga pagkakamali ko sa buhay.”
Now 33, Valerie is already married to her non-showbiz partner Francis Sunga.
