Messages of love and prayers poured on different social media platform as veteran comedian Caloy Alde made his final bow several days before his 61st birthday later this month.
Dubbed as the “Mr. Bean of the Philippines” and fondly remembered as the lead actor in the 1990s comedy show Ogag (which became his nickname later on), Caloy’s friends and fans were left heartbroken upon hearing the sad news about his passing.

Among the first people who posted a tribute for him was actor Alwyn Uytingco who talked about an unforgettable funny moment with his “Kuya Caloy”, “‘I love nature.’ Ang joke mo na ‘di ko malilimutan. Salamat, Kuya Caloy.”
Isa kang alamat! Rest in peace, Kuya Caloyski!”

While Twitter user @27EmperorJD wrote, “Sad day. Another comedian dies at age 60, suffering from heart attack, “Ogag”, Carlos “Caloy” Alde. Caloy is Mr. Bean of the Philippines.”

Caloy passed away last Friday, July 22, due to a massive heart attack, as confirmed by his wife Rhoda Porrel-Alde in an exclusive interview with PEP. He will be laid to rest at the Holy Cross Memorial Park in Novaliches, Quezon City. He left behind his wife Rhoda and their 20-year-old son Marley.
