The City of Baguio Public Information Office (PIO) commended two mall employees for returning a bag containing P600k to its owner.
In a Facebook post, Baguio City PIO initially commended security guard Rodney Visperas of Sapher Security Agency. He, “without second thought turned it over to be returned to the owner.”
But they later updated their post and said that aside from Visperas, store merchandiser Amani Sarip is also to be commended for calling the attention of Visperas.
“SM City Baguio clarified that it was not only security guard Rodney Visperas who manifested an act of honesty that resulted to the safe return of the lost P600,000 to its owner last Aug. 27, 2022,” Baguio PIO also said.
“The company also commended store merchandiser Amani Sarip who first spotted the lost bag and pointed it to Visperas. Visperas then turned over the find to their superior. Salute to both of you, sir and ma’am!”
Meanwhile, netizens expressed their admiration for the two.
“Sana po ay tularan kayo ng marami. Malaki o maliit man na bagay na dapat isaulo sa nagmamay-ari. God will bless you more than what you did. Saludo po ako sa inyo mam and sir,” Charity T. commented.
“Job well done for being honest and being kind. Sana tularan kayo ng marami…. May you be bless more than anything else… God bless you both,” another commented.
Meanwhile, another netizen said that she is happy that they were not blinded by “easy money,” especially since someone else worked hard for that money.
“Minsan hindi solution ang easy money para umangat ang buhay. Ang pagiging honest at pagpapahalaga sa alam natin na pinagpaguran ng iba at pagsauli ng bagay na hindi natin pinagpaguruan, hindi man sa ngayon, but God is always watching those people with a good heart ang purity of conscience. I salute u sir n mam.”
