Mother volunteers as surrogate mom for her son's child

Can you imagine giving birth to your very own grandchild?

Well, a 56-year-old mother is ‘pregnant’ with her son’s child. In short, her grandchild is in her womb.

Nancy Hauk of Utah, USA, volunteered to be a surrogate mother for the fifth baby of her son Jeff, 32, and his wife Cambria, 30.

Due to infertility issues, the couple Jeff and Cambria waited a long time before they could have children. Years later, through IVF, they were blessed with four children—two sets of twins.

The twins Vera and Ayva are three years old while Diseal and Luka are 11 months old.

During Cambria’s supposed third pregnancy with what would have been their fifth child, she experienced complications.

Add to this the fact that she underwent a hysterectomy; a surgical procedure wherein some parts or the entire uterus is removed. That’s why Nancy volunteered to be a surrogate mother.

Nancy said recently in an interview with SWNS, an international media network, “I just suddenly had a feeling a few months after that I should offer to do it. I told my son [Jeff], and he teared up and was shocked—I hadn’t even told my husband at that point. But he was really supportive.”

Nancy went to see her doctor. She was told that she was healthy and fit to be a surrogate mother, so she underwent hormone treatment in January 2022.

After that, Jeff and Cambria’s fertilized embryo was transferred to Nancy.

According to Jeff on his mother’s sacrifice, “I felt grateful to have such a selfless and loving mom that was willing to make that kind of sacrifice for my family. Having experienced over four years of infertility treatments, I knew how complicated the process can be and doubted that it was possible for her to carry a baby for us, but I was very moved that she would even offer.”

In May 2022 the baby was determined to be a girl. Nancy is set to give birth to her granddaughter on November 5, 2022. Yes, that’s how great a mother’s love is!
