One kilo of rice will be given to those who catch a plate of mosquitoes in Barangay Sanja Mayor in Tanza, Cavite.
That’s what was shared in a Facebook post by someone named “Jade Blancaflor”, admin of Borland Health Center in Barangay Sanja.
“1 Platong Lamok= 1 Kilong Bigas…”
Maraming Salamat.” according to her caption.

This is one of the barangay’s programs to address the increasing cases of dengue in the town which is now under a state of calamity due to the outbreak of the disease.
The resident must use a plastic plate that will be rubbed with lard or oil and then used to catch mosquitoes whre it abounds..
There is no set number as to how many mosquitoes need to stick to the plate.

Those who can bring a platful to the barangay until September 30 will receive a kilo of rice.
The barangay allocated arround 10 cavans of rice for this program.
Apart from this, the widespread cleaning in the town is also in full swing to eradicate the possible mosquito-infested areas.
The local government is meeting residents for proper methods to prevent dengue.
They also distribute anti-dengue supplies to schools and areas with high cases of the disease.
Around P8 million has been released from the quick response program of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund of Tanza to address the dengue outbreak there.

Meanwhile, let’s all help keep our surroundings clean.
